The Climate Displacement Initiative

Climate change is not just an enviornmental issue — it is a human issue. Worldwide, rising sea levels, droughts, floods, and extreme weather forces millions of people to leave their homes in search of safety and stability. These individuals are referred to as "climate refugees."

We are Falak and Emily, undergraduate students at the University of Texas at Austin. We have spent the last 3 months learning about the climate through our class, Humans and Changing Oceans.

​We care because no one should be forced to choose between their home and their survival. By raising awareness about climate displacement, we hope to shine a light on the stories behind the faces. We hope to inspire action toward a sustainable future for all.
